We have two new orange kitties: Sandy and Simon. Just absolutely precious. I've been squirting them with water lately to try to keep them from scratching and tearing up the furniture. It's a useful technique. Of course, I feel a little bit awkward spraying the things, but I guess they're domestic, so they might as well get domesticated, and they don't seem to hold a grudge. They also wrestle with each other a lot, which is pretty cute.
Other than that, it's been the same old, same old. I have a new bike that was built from scratch. I'm going to ride it for the first time tomorrow. The skinny wheels scare me a bit, but just looking at and admiring the bike doesn't burn many calories.
That's all.

Sandy and Simon - how cute! Good luck with the new bike. I think Travis might trade me his mary poppins bike for my mom's old mountain bike.
just don't spray them too much--i read it will make them even more scared of water, which would really suck if they ever have to be bathed. have you gotten/made them scratch posts?
they have a scratching station or two, but yes, they definitely need another post or two around! thanks for the advice; i was thinking it might traumatize them a bit...
mary poppins bike! how fun!
elleennnnnnnn
i am so jealous of your kitties. i would have named them both pumpkin, but sandy and simon are pretty adorable. my friend trained his cats to be afraid of the fly swatter-- he would slap it down near them, and in the end, they were just terrified of fly swatters. so when one got into the plant, all he had to do was ever-so-slightly nudge the fly swatter and the cats would run off.
it sounds mean, but nobody got hurt and it was kind of fun to watch the cats run away like that.
i got your call a few days ago. i'll call you back, soon
love ya
